Those doubters don’t know that with your perfect ski chalet comes a midweek linen change and cleaning service and the indulgent option of a pre-arrival grocery shop. You don’t want to let the secret out so you are keeping blissful silence over how smug you are feeling that the fridge will be filled ready for your arrival. You do feel spoilt. A menu also came through a few months ago offering an evening meal delivery service. What could be easier when there are tired hungry children in tow or you don’t know where après will lead?

With a stunning four bedroom home like Chalet Tasna, après will quite likely lead back to the magnum of champagne you cleverly buried on the snowy balcony earlier. Who says that self-catering can’t be just as indulgent and luxurious? With a hammam and an outdoor jacuzzi to sink into, there is no worry about being late for canapé o’clock here. At Chalet Tasna, you are in charge of your favourite week.

A great place to start is by kicking those ski boots off in the boot room and owning the sofa. With treats brought home from Patissier Chevallot, you had to fight your other half in ensuring the paper bag remained sealed until you had discarded the ski gear. Harmony can’t help but be returned once inside Chalet Tasna’s nurturing warm wooden tones and decadent fabrics. The views from the large glass windows are also a pretty good tonic for a hectic day out on those slopes. Maybe take an accompanying gin with you for good measure.

If a break from the rowdy rabble is calling, find yourself immersed into a good book or that third series you’ve been meaning to watch up in the mezzanine snug. There is something rather magical about being curled up under beams and blankets watching the snow falling from the picture window.
