If James Bond had a week off, it would be no surprise to find him here, sipping a martini from the elegant private bar in the superb party area offered exclusively to guests of Sir Richard Branson’s Verbier Lodge. Though she leads the way in luxurious ski accommodation, The Lodge is neither loud, nor brash, but sits proudly in pole position; just 200 meters from the Médran lift station, the Ruinettes piste taking you to the edge of her private garden. 

Whether taking a couple of rooms, or filling the whole property a stay at The Lodge is a special occasion in itself, and the highly trained team of staff will ensure that you feel every inch the VIP. On arrival your bags are whisked away to be later found in your bedroom suite, meanwhile you are presented with a glass of perfectly chilled champagne 

The star attraction here is likely to be that party area; no kitchen sideboard charade here, an authentic and stylish bar awaits for your own private après ski party - or late night venue should you choose. Pull up a bar stool and peruse the cocktail menu – maybe join Mr Bond in that Martini, shaken not stirred. 

Behind you is your own pool table, chill out area with big comfy sofas, and a huge seating area surrounding the giant Plasma screen that serves as your own private cinema. The space is generous and versatile, and can adapt to suit your mood whatever the time or occasion, putting you firmly in control.

The entertainment continues on this level with a glamorous indoor swimming pool, sleek with dark grey tiled floor and bright spotlights, an indoor Jacuzzi and a steam room. A second outdoor Jacuzzi awaits on the Ibiza style terrace upstairs – spoiled for choice. To really relax and sink into the holiday in style ask the chalet’s own beauty therapist for a treatment or two – La Grand Classique facial perhaps? Or an Après Ski massage designed especially to stretch out your muscles after a day on the slopes, using warm and cool stones to get you fighting fit to ski again the next day. 

If you’ve still got energy for the private gym – then perhaps you didn’t ski hard enough. For everyone else The Lodge’s internal lift will help you back up to the main sitting room, or your bedroom for a little pre-dinner power nap.   

Dinner is quite the spectacular event at The Lodge should you choose; gourmet Swiss and International cuisine, themed or traditional – you choose. Kick it off in style with canapés by the roaring open log fire, as you recline on the silver-grey sofas. Lime green cushions inspire thoughts of a cool, crisp gin and tonic – Bombay Saphire or Tanqueray your chalet host enquires? These are the big decisions of the week, a pure pleasure seeking experience, a true indulgence. 

The bedrooms all boast beautiful décor, none more so than the two master suites with their private seating areas divided from the bedrooms by a slick central fireplace for added warmth and cosiness. Bathrooms are works of art with unique tubs positioned with a view out through the bedroom windows across stunning mountain vistas. 

The Lodge’s vast ski room ensures that your ski equipment is cared for in almost as much style as you, and your boots are toasty warm ready to sink your feet into at the start of each fresh day on the glorious sunny slopes of Verbier. Though you are merely 200 meters from the Médran lift, your private chauffeur is there to ease the journey; no one enjoys walking in ski boots after all.
